Trope on the Go™ — help for the iOS app and the web app
When you open the app, sing a few bars of a tune you know when prompted. Voice Setup uses this to learn your comfortable chanting range, so the keyboard playback plays back in a key you can sing along with. You can redo Voice Setup any time from Settings.
In Practice, choose your Torah or Haftarah reading by date or by parashah name (triennial cycles, weekday readings, individual aliyot, and custom aliyah divisions are all supported). In Learn, work through the trope sounds — with real recordings — from most frequent to least, plus flashcards and games.
The microphone is used for real-time pitch detection while you practice, and — when you tap Record — to capture a short take you can immediately play back and compare against the model. Recordings are kept only in the app's memory for that practice session; they are never saved to your device, uploaded, or sent anywhere, and they're discarded as soon as you move on.
If pitch detection isn't responding, check that you granted microphone permission (iOS Settings → Trope on the Go → Microphone).
Every new subscription starts with a 7-day free trial with full access. When the trial ends it converts to the plan you chose — Core Monthly ($11.99/month) or Core Annual ($119.99/year) — unless you cancel first.
If you subscribed in the iOS app: in the app, go to Settings → Account → Manage Subscription — this opens your App Store subscription page. You can also get there from your iPhone's Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Trope on the Go. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
If you subscribed on the website: in the app, go to Settings → Account → Manage Account to open your billing portal, or manage your plan on tropeonthego.com.
Yes. Sign in to the app with the same account (email, Google, or Sign in with Apple) and your access carries over. You will not be asked to pay again.
Purchases and refunds for the iOS app are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something still looks wrong, email us and we'll help sort it out.
On the sign-in screen, use the password-reset link to set a new password, or sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple if you used one of those originally. Still stuck? Email us from the address on your account.
In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the prompts. This permanently removes your account and associated data. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first (see above) — deleting the account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
